Saif confirms a February/March Wedding!

Saif Ali Khan hasn't spoken about his impending wedding to Kareena Kapoor, till now. Contrary to stories doing the rounds that the wedding - to be held in his ancestral Pataudi Palace - has been postponed thanks to delays with Agent Vinod and his father Mansur Ali Khan's recent death, Saif confirms for the first time that they will marry early next year.

Kareena had always maintained that she and Saif would tie the knot in 2012 but there was some confusion if it would be early 2012 or end of the year. Saif's mother Sharmila Tagore has also declared that her son is planning to marry Kareena "very soon." The plan was to get married after the release of Saif's home production Agent Vinod, which was to release on December 9 but the film got delayed, which sparked speculation that the wedding would be postponed.

Saif confirms, "Kareena and I will definitely get married by early next year. We plan to get married in February 2012 after Agent Vinod releases, but if the film's release gets delayed we will still get married by March. We won't postpone the marriage beyond that anymore." He adds, "Kareena is a wonderful girl and we are extremely compatible. My family and she have always got along well. We share the same values in life, love each other completely and I want to spend more time with her. I am looking forward to the marriage now." The wedding at Pataudi Palace will be a traditional and grand one, attended by the couple's family and friends.

Kareena & Agent Vinod

Kareena Kapoor: AGENT VINOD is a very big film

Announced over a year and a half back, this Sriram Raghavan film is now finally inching towards its eventual release date. A spy thriller with Saif Ali Khan in the title role, one wonders whether AGENT VINOD turned into a cause of frustration for the real life couple since the film saw a change in release timing every now and then.

"In October, we embarked upon the last schedule of the film," Kareena says with a sense of reassurance in her voice, "Honestly speaking, AGENT VINOD has taken just the right kind of time that a film of this scale really requires. It is just that since the film has been in news for such a long time, there is this perception amongst a few out there that it is taking time to complete."

One tends to agree with her here since the film did see an extensive shooting schedule for itself that was spread across the globe and required extensive pre/post production as well.

"Do you know that it has some serious action sequences which are on the same scale as any other big budgeted James Bond kind of a film," Kareena continues in an animated tone, "The fact of the matter is that this is hardly the kind of a film that can be made fast. Unlike a comedy that can be wrapped up in 50 days, AGENT VINOD does require some elaborate shooting schedules spread over months."

On a parting note, Kareena adds, "It is a very big film and we are into the last leg now. Saif, Sriram and Dinesh (Vijan) are working out the logistics for the film's release. In the first quarter of next year, we would be definitely unveiling AGENT VINOD."

Though she is keeping cards close to her, sources indicate that the film is all set for February release.

Ek Main Ek Tu vs. Agent Vinod

It’s a lesson Aishwarya Rai Bachchan learned last year (with Action Replayy and Guzaarish), and one that Kareena Kapoor should hopefully be able to avoid in 2012. We’re talking about having two of your projects clash at the box office, to the detriment of both. Kareena faces a tricky situation with Saif Ali Khan’s Agent Vinod (pegged for a February 10 release) and Karan Johar’s Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu (slated to arrive on the weekend preceding Valentine’s Day).

But a source said KJo will give way: “This would be the second time Karan will reschedule Ek Main... for Kareena. It was meant to release last November, but Karan postponed it so Bebo could focus on Ra.One."

Bebo to start shooting for Heroine from Nov 25

Kareena Kapoor, who's had a good run this year with successful films like Bodyguard and Ra.One, is all set to start work on another high profile project soon. From November 25, she starts shooting for Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine.

The ambitious project has finally found its bearings and will be shot at one long stretch to preserve continuity. That makes Heroine Kareena's only film on the floor for now.

A source says, "Madhur Bhandarkar and UTV need Kareena to be her character throughout the shooting so she can't be distracted with other projects. The role of the actress needs to go through various phases and the transitions must not appear abrupt. For this, she needs to be with the project till the very end."

The source also added that Kareena will not just be going through physical transformation, she'll also attend rigorous reading sessions and workshops. "The character's language also changes with her physicality as she grows older and decline sets in. It's a role modelled on a particular actress who reached legendary proportions and then drank herself into oblivion at a young age," the source adds.

The target is to get Kareena a National award for her performance. Earlier, Tabu and Priyanka Chopra have won National awards for their performances in Madhur's Chandni Bar and Fashion respectively.

Kareena has not been told to model herself on this actress. But the role has been written following certain guidelines fashioned after another legendary actress. Although no one will be named publicly for fear of attracting the wrong kind of attention, there will be enough hints for the audience to know who it is.

It's a first for Kareena as she has never attended workshops for films and wants to fully concentrate on her character. Siddharth Roy Kapoor of UTV, producer of the film, says, "We start shooting from November 25. Script discussions and pre-production are on in full swing. I think Kareena is fully into it."

Hrithik and Kareena are good dancers says Saroj Khan

So recently, while attending an event she was asked who her favorite dancer is. She replied ‘Madhuri Dixit‘ saying, “I have repeatedly said this and my answer has not changed. It is Madhuri Dixit.”

From the current generation who she thinks are the good dancers, and Saroj Khan takes names of Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor. “Hrithik Roshan dances very well. Amongst actresses, I think Kareena is good,” says Saroj Khan.

Talking about the modernization of dance and young choreographers, she says, “There is no change or modernisation of dance taking place. There is nothing new that today’s dance techniques have to offer. It has all been there. And about the new choreographers, let them take the field now.”

When asked what does she think of dance, “I believe dance is the best form of art. You cannot touch music. A painting or a sculpture has no life, but you can pose like a sculpture while dancing; you can take the colours from a painting with your clothes and sets. You can dance to music,” says Ms.Khan.
