Kareena cancels her birthday plans

Kareena Kapoor's birthday tomorrow was to be a double celebration. She planned to host a huge birthday bash and also celebrate the success of Bodyguard but now she's cancelled the bash.

Says a source close to Bebo, "Kareena had planned to have an intimate dinner for her family and friends on her birthday and follow that up with a huge birthday bash-cum-success party.

But with Saif's father Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi continued ill-health she will be keeping her birthday

low-key and not celebrate it at all. At best, she might have a small dinner with family and friends."

Apparently, the cancellation was at Saif's behest. he isn't in a celebatory mood. He was spotted at a fashion show in Delhi but that was a commitment made months ago. Says an insider, "He has asked Bebo to keep away from any grand celebration or dish out any janamdin plans. Kareena is naturally sensitive to the health of Pataudi Sr and her beau's wishes, so it will be a low key birthday. She even flew to Delhi to be with the Pataudi patriarch a couple of times despite her work commitments."

Saif Ali Khan-Kareena Kapoor wedding put on hold indefinitely

The marriage plans of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor have been put on hold with the Pataudis going into mourning. A source said the couple had already put the wedding plans on hold after Mansur Ali Khan was admitted to hospital. Saif Ali Khan and Kapoor were planning to get married in mid-February next year.

"The official mourning period of the family is six months, but the family won't celebrate for the next one year," said a friend of the Pataudis.

The marriage was supposed to take place at the Pataudi family palace in Bhopal. "The plans were already put on hold and we were looking at a date later next year because we expected Nawabsaheb (that was how Tiger was known among his select group of friends) to get better. But tragedy has struck," said the friend.

Saif Ali Khan, who rushed to the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on hearing of his father's death, broke down upon reaching the place. Kapoor, who was shooting at a different location, was expected to take a late-night flight to Delhi.

Pataudi's daughters Saba and Soha Ali Khan and wife Sharmila Tagore were already at the hospital by Pataudi's bedside.

"We have been told that Amrita Singh (Saif Ali's former wife) is also going to arrive soon with his children (son Ibrahim Ali Khan and daughter Sara Ali Khan)," the friend added.

Despite loads to celebrate, looks like actor Kareena Kapoor's birthday today will be a low-key affair. The actor along with beau actor Saif Ali Khan has postponed the big celebration to a later date due to Saif's father Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi's ill health. According to sources, the actor will be shooting for a brand commercial in the first half of the day and then spend the evening with her family. The family had apparently been making elaborate plans to celebrate her birthday with a lavish party to celebrate her recent success, they have postponed it for now. "Concerned for Saif's father, Bebo and Saif are both in no mood to party at present. They only hope for his full recovery. It's a sensitive issue and the mood is naturally sombre," added the insider.

Kareena says, "We are all really worried and hope that he gets well soon." As for her birthday, she says, "It's the people around me who make my birthdays special, so whether it's a lavish bash or a quiet dinner, it's just as special for me."

Unlike several actors, Kareena reveals that getting a year older doesn't worry her at all. "Heroines may have a short shelf life, but actresses don't," she smiles. "Besides, I'm not the kinds to chalk out plans for the future. I believe in 'living the now' and enjoying it to the fullest. And right now, I'm in a happy space professionally and personally," adds.

So, what's the birthday wish going to be? "I'm working with the best in the industry, be it actors or filmmakers and I have a great guy to come back home too. What else can I ask for?" she smiles. More hits? "Hits are always welcome, but for me my happiness also has much to do with my family and friends, so just wishing for happiness always," she signs off.

Bebo turns down "Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai Part-2"

In 2001, Tusshar Kapoor made his big Bollywood debut with Satish Kaushik's Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai. The sequel to the decade old film is all set to go on floors on October 18. This time without the original leading lady Kareena Kapoor.

Though the producer Vashu Bhagnani, director Satish Kaushik and lead actor Tusshar Kapoor remain a part of the sequel, the leading lady it seems has chosen to turn down the offer. Despite being good friends with lead actor Tusshar and his sister Ekta Kapoor, Kareena cited date problems and opted out of the project.

A source informed Mumbai Mirror, "Actually there was no question of Kareena being part of this project. She has moved way ahead of the MKKH league."

When contacted, director Satish Kaushik confirms the sequel, saying, "yes, we start shooting MKKH 2 from October 18. There's no Kareena this time. Tusshar features in a double role. He will have three leading ladies."

However, the director denied approaching Kareena for the said project. "It is not a single heroine film. I have great memories of working with Kareena in Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai. But I do have another script especially for her. She's super talented and I am proud of her," said Kaushik.

Tusshar Kapoor on the other hand, is not only a part of the sequel to his debut project but also plays his career's first double role in the same. "Tusshar plays a double role. He plays a Sardarji in one of his avatars. It is a very funny script and my first full fledged comedy."

Hairstylist Pompey Hans on Kareena !!!

Pompy studied hairstyling at the Toni & Guy Academy in London. He then began assisting Bollywood makeup artist Cory Walia. Cory really liked Pompy's work and recommended him to try his hand in Bollywood.

Pompy got his first break in Bollywood with Darna Mana Hai where he styled Sameera Reddy. There was no looking back from there. He even acted in movies like Fashion and Dev D.

Pinkvilla.com caught up with Mr. Hans for an exclusive interview where he talked on Kareena Kapoor's looks for her upcoming movies.

How has your experience working with Kareena been?

I have been with Kareena Kapoor for almost 4 years since Kambakht Ishq. She is a beautiful girl both from the inside and outside. She is a very loyal person. She may be the top star but she is very chilled out and dildaar. She is a very simple girl at the same time very classy. I have had an amazing experience working with her.

Can you briefly talk about Kareena's looks in her upcoming movies?

In Ra.One she plays a Punjabi housewife with a kid settled in London. So her makeup is quite simple yet classy. For her hair, I gave a straight hair look with blow dry and a little bit of bounce. Her look is different for the song Chammak Challo as the movie takes a turn post this song.

Agent Vinod is a thriller. She has a couple of different looks in the movie. Her hairstyle changes as the movie goes through different locales. There is a mujra song in the movie where her look is that of a Pakistani girl. So she has a nose ring etc. For her hair we added soft curls with extensions.

In Reema Khagti's next, Kareena plays a very different character from all her previous movies. It’s a thriller. Her look in the movie is just “Wow”. I can’t reveal much but she will look out of this world in the movie. Straight long hair with streaks is the look I have created for her in the movie.

How does Kareena achieve her near perfect hairdos at her various public appearances?

She prefers bouncy blow-dry for her everyday look. We use good voluminising products like L’Oreal or Tigi. I use a root booster and volume hairspray.

What are Kareena’s hair care rituals?

She uses a high end shampoo and conditioner for her hair and gets an oil massage once a month.

Does Kareena give you inputs on her looks for her movies?

Of course she does. We work on it together like a team. She is quite aware of the latest fashion trends. It’s my choice but her decision. She is very flexible and is ready to trying out new hairdos.

On a day off work, how does Kareena style her hair?

She loves the messy pileup look. That’s her personal style. Take all the hair up in a rubber band in a messy way. That is her favorite look.

Any hair-styling for our viewers

It really depends on the face structure and hair texture. I really like mid length with layers.
Make a concoction of 4 oils - almond, castor, olive and coconut. Warm the oil and massage your scalp with it. It works as a great conditioner and stimulates the roots of the hair. Do this at least once a month.
